Explore the hearth of the Saguenay Fjord and hits French culture with this 2 days and 2 night sailing experience.
Discover one of the most beautiful parts of Canada. The Saguenay Fjord is the longest fjord in Eastern Canada. A unique river of 2 nautical miles wide by 65 nautical miles long between the town of Chicoutimi and the historical village of Tadoussac.
Your journey will start in La Baie, a small town at the head of the Saguenay-St. Lawrence Marine Park (see www.parcmarin.qc.ca). This unique marine park is an admirable and unique natural environment. In respect of this protected marine area and his inhabitants, you could see Belugas and seals.
Come sail on this huge river and be enchanted by the picturesque village of Sainte Rose-du-nord and its quiet life, Saint-Basile de Tableau and its unique rock wall and the majestic bay of Rivière-Éternité. The breathtaking cliffs of 1000 feet high, the salmon river that ends there and the protected land area of this Québec National Park (see www.sepaq.com/pq/sag/index.dot?language_id=1) will intoxicate your senses. Boarding :
In L’Anse-à-Benjamin marina (La Baie) on Friday afternoon
Meet your captain, make yourself at home and get prepared to set sails.
Your first night on board will be at Sainte-Rose-du-Nord.
Diner could be on board or at a friendly local bistro, as you wish!
Day 1 :
Breakfast on board.
A full day of sailing ending at Rivière-Éternité Bay. Enjoy your healthy lunch while sailing.
If you wish so, your skipper can teach you the basics of sailing.
Swimming (July to September) in the Saguenay, hiking or visiting the interpretation center of the Saguenay National Park are also available.

All day sail back to La Baie to discover what you over looked yesterday.

Your 2 days and 2 nights sailing trip includes the renting of a monohull sailboat, a professional skipper, all meals and access fees for the national parks and marinas. Minimum of 4 and a maximum of 5 persons. Make your own group or join one! Don’t worry about the language, your English speaking skipper can teach you a little of French while you go through your sailing experience.
Your guide
Jacques and Jean-Michel, dad and son, own Voile Mercator sailing school and excursion since 2006. They both love to share there sailing skills, passion and special meals with others. Dad sailed for nearly 32 years and son started when he was 8 years old. He is now sailing since 17 years. They sail The Saguenay Fjord, the Saint-Lawrence river and its Gulf since 1993. They are also familiar with the British Virgin Island and they crossed the Atlantic Ocean together from France to Québec. Knowing now that you’re in good hands, let your host Jacques and Jean-Michel aloud you to make your own never ending sailing story.
