Papineau-Labelle wildlife reserve.
Encompassing an ancient mountain range and spanning the Outaouais and the Laurentians regions, this is Quebec’s southern most wildlife reserve. The rich and diverse vegetation provides an ideal environment for bird watching and observing wildlife on land and water, including white-tailed deer, moose, woodcocks, buntings and loons. The reserve boasts 763 lakes and 42 streams and rivers!
La Vérendrye wildlife reserve.
With more than 4,000 lakes, water is one of the main attractions of the La Vérendrye wildlife reserve, which includes the Grand Lac Victoria and its two huge reservoirs, Dozois and Cabonga, as well as countless rivers. This wilderness paradise, which straddles the Outaouais and Abitibi-Témiscamingue regions, boasts another marvel: floating islands on the reservoirs that offer a changing panorama.
Y Kanawana is part of the YMCA’s of Quebec.
